WEBIT Festival in Sofia: how it was

On April 19th and 20th Admixer attended one of the most famous web conference in Europe – WEBIT Festival in Sofia Tech Park, Bulgaria. WEBIT Festival 2016 is gathering some of the world`s top enterprise leaders, Europe’s top policy makers and the hottest startups and founders.

There were over 200 global thought leaders, 4500+ attendees, over 75% C-level delegates and over 100 exhibiting StartUps at the Startup Expo. The speakers talked about marketing, innovations, technologies, smart cities, new economy leadership, trade, StartUps, investors and lots of intriguing themes we are all interested in.

The Festival was held at the newly built Sofia Tech Park. Webit promotes Sofia as the digital capital of the new markets, so the main goal is to boost the development of research, innovation and technological capabilities of Bulgaria. So at the event there was The President of Bulgaria, The Mayor of Sofia, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers and Ambassadors from all around Europe and beyond.

Digital Marketing & Innovation Summit focusing around Programmatic, video and mobile advertising, Brands’s Digital Strategies, Omni Channel and personalization strategies, Digital Entertainment and media. As the scedule was pretty tight, our team visited only several reports. So we don’t have much to say about.

There was a big workshop about online advertising, but it was in Bulgarian 🙁

To be honest the thing we don’t understand – is the Founders Games winner – adblocking company from Russia AdGuard. The opening speech from Benjamin Faes (Google) was focused on adblocking damage for the market, and the Webit organizers used display advertising to promote the event, so for us it was a little bit of surprise. However, we wish them luck.
